Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a constellation of telecommunication nanosatellites! With the recent success of our Series A funding, a handful of early customers, and our first 13 satellites in orbit, Kepler is currently doubling in size!

As the Chief Operating Officer at Kepler, you will be instrumental in driving Kepler’s ambitious goals, product, and growth plans. This ranges from the mass production of our satellites to ground user equipment, scaling our satellite network operations and the commercialization of our products and services.

In this role, you will report directly to our CEO and be held accountable for the success of the cross-functional operations team, including team structure and staffing, operational practices and quality, and delivery against our commercialization roadmap. You will shape our long-term vision and strategy, working closely with Kepler's management team to propel the future of our business.

Position Responsibilities:

Realize company revenue goals through strategic initiatives, support department leads in growth and develop business plans for new projects aligned to deliver revenue goals.

Communicate market strength and competitive health to all customers and stakeholders and drive action plans.

Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement and improvement to drive sales, increase customer satisfaction and customer retention.

Execute the business plan, achieve, or exceed planned P&L objectives.

Ensure everyone is truly following, and adhering to, the Kepler’s mission and values. Demonstrate effective project management and continuous improvement skills. Use both skills to evolve our core processes.

Partner with the management team on short and long-term planning to keep the company on track with its audience and financial quarterly and long-term KPIs, identify organizational workflow or process blockers and quickly resolve them to keep the company on course.

Identify cross functional operational improvement in terms of technology, workflow, process, and structure. Challenge the status quo to support business acceleration.

Daily focus on company Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) to measure the most optimal way for the entire team to invest their time, resolve inevitable blockers and provide guidance, as needed.

Select, develop, and lead a high performing team and foster a success-oriented, accountable structure and environment within their areas of responsibility. Set challenging and attainable performance objectives and operational plans that are responsive to and enabling of Kepler’s strategies and contribute to our growth objectives.

Confirm key messages are properly and consistently cascaded across the organization. Inherently ensure that everyone is in the know. Verify a high level of effective communication exists throughout the organization. Develop, administer, and communicate strategic and operational plans to support the Kepler mission, values, and strategic plan. Plan, develop, and coordinate organization capacity and capability to respond to and implement changes in the strategic direction.

Provide executive leadership to the JHSC, diversity and inclusion initiatives, facilities, and support services in collaboration with the responsible department heads. Monitor, analyze and evaluate the activities and performance effectiveness within the various areas of responsibility, assure progress towards overall targets.

Responsible for the strategic and legal aspects of all corporate deals, including partnerships, distribution, and M&A opportunities.

Manage relationships with external legal counsel and key vendors.

Requirements:

Experience and ability to grow, lead and manage large and scaling teams.

Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Bring strategic focus to goal execution and overcoming roadblocks.

Financial planning (P&L).

Proven ability to drive business development.

Previous start-up experience.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Agility, adaptability, flexibility in a quickly changing environment and industry.

Ability to pay attention to small details but also see the bigger picture.

Bonus Points:

Experience in the space/satellite industry.

Advanced post-secondary degree.
