Hardware Test Engineer

Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a constellation of telecommunication nanosatellites! With the recent success of our Series A funding, a handful of early customers, and our first two satellites in orbit, Kepler is currently doubling in size!

We invest heavily to deliver the best products to our customers, and so we’re on the hunt for a Hardware Test Engineer who will architect and design a test infrastructure to ensure reliability and top quality for all Kepler products. Here is a little more detail on what you can expect to work on:

Position Responsibilities

  • Own the design of all test setups for in-house and manufacturing testing and drive the test environment towards full automation
  • Drive the DFM and DFT requirements for all of Kepler’s products
  • Lead the design requirements for function, ICT, and bed of nail testing
  • Participate in design reviews for all active designs to ensure test requirements have been met
  • Represent hardware as an integral part of the Kepler test team to continue the development of Kepler’s hardware test process
  • Design test plans and test cases to validate new products and improve existing products.
  • Position Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience implementing hardware test methodologies
  • Hardware design experience (schematic and layout)
  • Experience with one or more CAD tools (Altium, Eagle, Allegro, KiCad, Upverter, etc.)
  • Comfortable in a lab environment and experience using standard tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, VNA’s, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Python scripting in a test environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues
  • Ability to drive design decisions and implement well documented processes  
  • Bonus Points

  • Knowledge and / or experience in design and / or testing for Space
  • Test experience in a low volume + high complexity environment
