Spacecraft Systems Engineer
Engineering - Toronto, Ontario
Kepler is changing the face of satellite communications by launching a constellation of telecommunication nanosatellites! With the recent success of our Series A funding, a handful of early customers, and our first two satellites in orbit, Kepler is currently doubling in size!

We invest heavily to deliver the best products to our customers through an ever-growing number of services as we build to the internet in space, and so we’re on the hunt for a top-tier Systems Engineer.  In this role you will be a key team member in the build-out of our constellation; improving and enhancing our orbital assets and ensuring the reliability in their build.

In this role, you will work with the growing team developing and building Kepler’s spacecraft and payloads. You will build upon existing designs using data-analysis and model-based approaches to produce improvements and changes to each generation of Kepler spacecraft. Based on strengths and interest, you will focus on analysis or hardware readiness, or some mixture of both. Responsibilities will range from supporting Assembly, Integration, and test (AIT) of spacecraft and subsystems, design and characterization of subsystems and subsystem/spacecraft and their interfaces, and aid in the guidance of spacecraft technical development through system models and verification methods. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to the full life cycle of technology; from concept to orbit deployment and eventual disposal.

The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be supporting critical development, AIT and sub-system/team interfacing, but will evolve aligned with each candidates’ strengths and interest. The candidate will be responsible for the complete scope of subsystem scoping and integration, ensuring that interfaces are controlled, tested and modeled such that they are verified and successful. The candidate will be responsible for the development of tools required to ensure success of the systems/sub-systems for which they are owners.
